Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how uFeed ("uFeed", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use the uFeed service at https://ufeed.me and related applications (the "Service").
1. Who we are
uFeed is a video-first food marketplace focused on Japan: food sellers and creators upload short clips, our AI editor ("uFeed Studio") produces the finished video, and consumers can watch videos and order food directly from them. For any privacy question or request, contact us at ufeedmeapp@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
•
Account information: your email address, display name and profile picture (avatar). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture from your Google account. We do not receive your Google password.
•
Content you upload: video clips, the videos produced from them, captions, dish names, prices, photos, and your shop profile if you sell on uFeed.
•
Order information: the items you order, order status and history, and your delivery address in Japan (postal code, prefecture, city, street address, building, and any delivery note) when you choose delivery.
•
Interactions: likes and comments you post on videos.
•
Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address and browser/device type) used for security, rate limiting and abuse prevention.
Your sign-in session is kept as a token stored locally on your device (browser local storage on the web, secure storage on mobile). We may use a limited set of analytics and advertising tools that set cookies or similar identifiers, as described in Section 5a ("Analytics & advertising"). We do not otherwise use cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Location data ("Near me")
The "Near me" feed sorts videos by their distance from you. If you choose to use it, your browser or device asks for your permission, and your approximate coordinates are sent with the request so we can compute distances. We use your location only to answer that request: it is not stored on our servers or in our database, it is never linked to your account or profile, and it is never shown to other users. The locations we do store are those of Merchant shops, which Merchants provide themselves.
You can revoke the location permission at any time in your browser or device settings. The rest of the Service works normally without it.
4. How we use your information
•
To provide the Service: your feed, profile, uploads, orders and messages between you and sellers.
•
To produce videos with uFeed Studio: frames from the clips you upload are analyzed by AI to recognize the dish, choose the best opening shot, and generate the title and caption.
•
To process orders: sellers receive the order details they need to prepare and deliver your food, including your name and delivery address.
•
To sort the "Near me" feed by distance, using your device location for that single request only (see Section 3).
•
To send transactional emails: sign-in codes, welcome emails, and order-related notifications.
•
To improve the Service, including training and improving the AI models that power uFeed — with important exclusions and an opt-out, described in Section 6.
•
To keep the Service safe: fraud and abuse prevention, rate limiting, and debugging.
•
To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We use a limited set of advertising and analytics tools to measure our marketing campaigns and understand how the Service is used, as described in Section 5a. We do not use the personal information you give us (such as your email or delivery address) to build advertising profiles.
5. Third-party processors
We share data with a small number of service providers only to the extent needed to run the Service:
•
Google (Google LLC) — optional sign-in with your Google account ("Sign in with Google").
•
Anthropic (Claude API) — frames extracted from uploaded video clips are sent to Anthropic's AI models to recognize dishes and generate video titles and captions. Under Anthropic's API terms, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models by default.
•
Resend — delivers our transactional emails (sent from noreply@ufeed.me).
•
Stripe (future) — when real payments launch, payment processing will be handled by Stripe; uFeed will not store your full card details. Payments are currently simulated in test mode and no real payment data is collected.
The Service is hosted on servers located in the European Union (Hetzner). Some processors may process data outside Japan or the EU; where they do, we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect your data.
5a. Analytics & advertising
To understand how people find and use uFeed and to measure the performance of our marketing campaigns, we may load third-party analytics and advertising tools on our website. When enabled, these tools set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and receive certain technical and event data (such as the pages you view and conversion events like signing up or placing your first order). We use them to count and attribute conversions, not to read your account details.
•
Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — website and campaign measurement.
•
Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — measurement and attribution for our Facebook and Instagram advertising.
•
TikTok Pixel (TikTok / ByteDance) — measurement and attribution for our TikTok advertising.
These tools are only active when we have configured them; if they are not configured, no such third-party scripts, cookies or identifiers are loaded at all. When we run advertising campaigns, we also read UTM parameters from the link you arrived through (for example utm_source and utm_campaign) so we can attribute a sign-up or order to the campaign that brought you; these are campaign labels, not personal information.
You can limit or block these tools using your browser or device settings (for example by blocking third-party cookies or using tracking-prevention features), and browser extensions or ad/tracker blockers will also stop them. Doing so does not affect your ability to use the Service. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before loading advertising cookies; contact ufeedmeapp@gmail.com with any questions.
6. Improving uFeed and training our AI models
We use content uploaded to the Service and how people interact with it (such as views, likes and orders placed) to improve uFeed — and to train, develop and improve our own AI models, such as the models behind uFeed Studio, search and recommendations. This is our own training, separate from the third-party AI processing described in Section 5 (Anthropic does not use our API inputs to train its models).
We never use the following for model training: your email address, your delivery addresses, payment information, sign-in codes, or your device location. We also work to exclude identifiable people from training data — for example by filtering out or blurring frames that show faces — because uFeed models are about food, not people.
Opt-out: you can opt out of your content and activity being used for model training at any time using the switch below, or by emailing ufeedmeapp@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. Opting out does not affect your use of the Service.
Sign in to manage this preference.
If you delete your account or opt out, your data is removed from the datasets used for future training. Models that were already trained are not retrained, but your data will not be used in any new training after your request.
7. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove your personal information without undue delay, except for records we must keep for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes (for example, completed order records). Backups are rotated automatically over a limited period.
8. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop a specific use of it. Email ufeedmeapp@gmail.com from the address linked to your account and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
For users in Japan, we handle personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI, 個人情報保護法), including your rights to request disclosure, correction and cessation of use. For users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we honor the corresponding rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR/UK GDPR, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Placing orders additionally requires being at least 18 years old or having the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as set out in our Terms of Service.
10. Security
We protect your data with HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately for the risk involved.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date; material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
